With its delightful Dutch colonial architecture, thriving art and culinary scenes and excellent history museums, Curaçao feels like a little piece of Europe at the edge of the Caribbean.
A little piece of Europe, that is, with glorious hidden beaches, wondrous caves, amazing snorkeling and diving, and a wild, undeveloped windward coast dotted with prickly cacti and whiptail blue lizards.
Curaçao is still a well-kept secret. This Dutch island delivers a great underwater experience — mountains of brain, stony and elkhorn corals home to seahorses, frogfish and turtles galore—along with a vibrant downtown.
The main city of Willemstad is like Amsterdam with palm trees, dishing up nightlife, upscale dining, shopping and a mix of Spanish and Portuguese architecture honored as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The list of activities available on Curaçao is long, and includes mountain biking, golf, casinos and spas, as well as enjoying white-sand beaches.
It’s an ideal destination for divers traveling with non-divers, or for divers wanting to add in more
to their next getaway.
Our hotel, the LionsDive Beach Resort is located in the Bapor Kibra district, just 5 car minutes away from the city center of Willemstad.
The resort is located on a spacious, yet quiet and shaded private beach, and is part of
Mambo Beach, the longest white sandy beach in Curaçao. Just a few foot steps away, you will discover the Mambo Beach Boulevard, with its wide array of bars, restaurants and shops.
Our Diving center Ocean Encounters offers a lineup of world-class diving sites, such as Mushroom Forest, Blue Room, Klein Curaçao and Eastpoint, where visitors can’t help but be
wowed by the health of the reefs and the density of the fish schools flowing overtop. A big reason that divers get hooked on Ocean Encounters is the staff. Every member has been with the company a minimum of five years, and is an expert guide underwater as well as an excellent resource for the essential topside activities for answering questions.
With four custom dive boats, Ocean Encounters is ready to make your perfect dive vacation a reality especially because they have quick access to some of the Caribbean’s most pristine and dramatic reefs!
